Password reset issue in Netweaver Identity management

Hi All,

I  an issue trying to reset user password in IDM. The task has been executed, but when i try to log in i got the nice message:  User authentication failed

Do you know what could be the reason?

Hi Pavel

Can we get a little more info?

- What system are you authenticating to (ABAP, Java, IDM UI?)

- Even though the UI says the task has been executed, it doesn't necessarily mean the background tasks are done.  Can you check / post the logs of the subsequent tasks?  It may be that they're failing.

- Can you see the change password event in the back-end system logs?

Guy's,

Password provisioning is enabled, and we already have followed the document  but still no results. Any other ideas, thoughts.

Hi Pavithra,

I am trying to reset my own password using a self service task. Also if i log  as an administrator i get the same error message.

Hello Pavel,

                  have you enabled password provisioning in your IdM system ? if not the encrypted password value will not be filled which is required to update the password in systems connected to IdM.
