Dear all,
When we create an inspection lot manually (Trx. QA01) and maintain inspection start date / end date in such a way that they fall during weekends/holidays, then system gives a warning message saying "The start /end date of the inspection is not a valid workday".
But in our system for only one user this same message is appearing as error message. Because of this, the user is unable to maintain proper dates for some lots.
I checked the factory calendar assignments for different plants/users, it is all same.
We also copied the user details(for which error appear) from production server to development server and analyzed, but surprisingly in the development server, the same user is getting only warning messages!!!
Can anyone share their knowledge why system is behaving like this.
Regards,
Pavan
Its really strange to get error message in one server & only warning message in another.
Assumptions:
If all condition applies, then check with SAP by raising an OSS.

Dear All,
Thank you all for your replies.
I went to the user personally to check what is going wrong and found a classic case of human error !!!
User was always using save button to proceed ahead with the other processes in the transaction which was resulting in continuous Warning message, as the lot getting created was during weekends. He did not pressed 'Enter' button. Now it is clear to the user and he also now understands different types of SAP messages and their behavior.
Thanks again for all your help.

Pavan

Hello,
Please check the factory calendar maintained in your work center in Inspection plan.

Any chance this user works primarily in a particular workcenter? You can assign calendars to the work center but I've never personally tested them on the QM side.

For your information, you can set messages user specific..
All you need to do is define the message with different version and set the message type to E and assign the same to the user in user master record with parameter MSV.
Check whether the User was assigned the said parameter in User master record.

Dear Pavan
1 - Please check all relevant user exits, user authorizations
Compare transport lists for development and production
2 - Keep weekends/holidays working for factory calendar and ask user to create Inspection lot (QA01)
Check the system behaviour
