How to zip attachment file generated by report query

Hi,

Since there is a limitation on the attachment file size when sending attachment via SAP Sourcing e-mail, is there a way to zip attachment file after report query generated the report extract but before the report query is attached to e-mail?

Thanks for your kind replies and thoughts.

In the lower version 5.x, I am not able to find "maxunzippedattachmentsize" in the drop-down list under system property messaging set -> Name field.  Does this drop-down list value only exist in the upper version or it can be manually created and added to the value list value for this field? 

I've also learned that SAP Hosting mail server also has max. 5meg file size limitation for attachment.

Hi Pinpin,

You might want to take a look at the system property messaging.maxunzippedattachmentsize under messaging set. The value of this system property is the max size for an unzipped attachment. I suspect, if it goes over the limit, system will try to zip the attachment. I’ve not played around with this myself to be able to confirm the behavior.
