Initiative Versions

Hello Experts, How can we create Version of al Portfolio Items under Initiatives when we create Initiative Version in PPM5.0. Currently its grey out field “Create project version for Assigned Items” when we are Create Initiative version screen (Miscellaneous-Versions->Create). This filed “Create project version for Assigned Items” is talking about Project version (cProject assigned to Items??). Similar things, when we go from Initiative to Assigned Items, trying to create Version on Initiative Items (Via (Miscellaneous-Versions->Create), Currently its grey out field “Create project version” Is SAP talking about cProject version assigned to Initiative Item/s???? Do we need to object link to cProject and then it will support us to create all above version which belongs to cProjects??? Regards, Diana.

Hi Diana,

The option to "create version for all items" if available under Portfolio and Project Administration> Portfolios  menu. Open up your portfolio, and navigate to “You can also > Create Version of All Items”.  You can also choose to do this at a bucket level, for all subordinate initiatives and items under that part of the hierachy.

There are some pre-requisites for this to work.

The initiative project type (000..000DFM) must be enabled for versions.

You must have configured "defined permitted version numbers" for snaphots.

You will need to have created a snapshot version to use in the dialog box for "create version of all items".

During the snapshot creation process you can monitor progress in backend transaction SLG1.

Hello Diana,

You should have an option that it is " create version for all items", I think this option exists for portfolio, bucket and initiatives.. Could you chek if you have it?

Hi Clara, Thank You for reply, We still can see this option during Initiative Version creation, but in disable mode. One of the prerequsite was to have Portfolio Item should be there under Initiative, so that it will create both Versions(Initiative and Portfolio Items) together. Regards, Diana.
