Hi Experts,
I want to upgrade my DB from 10g to 11g but I can't find good information.
On the other hand I was wondering if I made a system copy and source system has 10g .. can I install 11g for Target and import without problem?
Regards.
Hi Jorge,
For Oracle database upgrade you need to refer and follow the steps defined in the upgrade guide.
Database Upgrade Guide
Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2): UNIX/Windows
can I install 11g for Target and import without problem?
Yes. You can do this using R3load method. Export source 10g database and import into target 11g database. You need to have additional hardware in place for this.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jorge,
The SAP Oracle upgrade from 10.2.x to 11.2.x is straight forward and quicker than going through a full export/import.
Basically you install the new 112_64 binaries and patch them with mopatch.
You then use dbua for the actual upgrade.
Have a look at the Oracle upgrade guide at service.sap.com/oracle
