Hi Venkata,

Here are the answers:

1. Which privilege can be applied to restrict user for accessing data for specific  years and region?

   B. Analytic Privilege (for specific years and region)

2. Which privilege can be grant to users for department wise .

   B. Analytic Privilege (for specific department)

In both the questions, the user is restricted to see limited amount of data.

Hello Venkata,

This is implemented at the Analytic Privileges level.

Analytic Privilege:

This restriction is done at the Analytic privileges level where you
can choose the  HANA Analytic/Calc. view ; then it allows you to select the
column on which you need to impose security; here  in your case 'Department'.

This is nothing but implementing security at the row level

User needs to be assigned the Analytical privileges - which defines for
what HANA views he/she has the access and for what data.

SQL privilege : (Releated to the above)

You need to add the below SQL Objects under SQL Privileges

a. _SYS_BI
B. The HANA analytic/calc view(s)
c. REPOSITORY_REST(SYS)

Also System Privilges and Packages Privileges should be assigned to the user

Ramesh
