Universe (IDT) integration with Hadoop

Hi

Can you please tell me how can we create BO universe in SAP BO 4 in Hadoop system (Hive/HBase). Do we need additional connectors?

Also - can we create Crystal reprots directly on Hadoop?

Can we create SAP Dashboards (Xcelsius) directly on Hadoop?

Hi Anul,

Connecting to Hadoop:

We use a JDBC driver to connect to Hadoop Hive

Here are the client tools that support the Hadoop Universe

Webi Intelligence

Crystal Reports

Dashboards

Explorer.

Hi

I was able to connect HIVe database to IDT. But I cannot see tables under "Default" Database in Data foundation layer. I can see Default DB but not tables. Any help is great.

Hi Anu,

Since this is an old thread, I'm expecting that your issue is resolved by now.

We're facing similar issue connecting to Hadoop from BI 4.1 SP4 IDT using JDBC. It gets connected but no tables can be seen underneath the dbs.

ODBC connectivity is working fine.

Could you please let us know the resolution.

We're facing similar issue connecting to Hadoop from BI 4.1 SP4 IDT using JDBC. It gets connected but no tables can be seen underneath the dbs.

There was a fix released in SP5

also an issue with Owner on the table may be a problem fixed in SP7.

However, avoid 4.1 SP7. patch 2.
