Issue regarding Table SXMSPMAST - Cannot delete old messages

Hi all,

I'm trying to clean old messages of SXI_MONITOR transaction with default job in SXMB_ADMIN because I cannot check any messages anymore. It got so slow then gives a short dump.

I noticed that table SXMSPMAST has more than 490 000 records and ABAP report RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS show that all these messages are to be deleted because field ITFACT is marked as "DEL".

Number of Messages for Deletion

Message and adapter status is ignored in the following

- Asynchr. msgs not in retention period (can be deleted):         485.417

- Asynchr. msgs in retention period (cannot be deleted):            6.467

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How can I proceed to delete these 485417 Asynchr messages? Is there a report for that?

in SXMB_ADM there is a link to "schedule delete jobs"..

Hi Udo,

I've already executed this job.

The number of records remains the same. No messages are deleted.
