SLD Data Suppliers and Synchronisation

In the SLD Administrator page there are two hyperlinks. One is "Data Suppliers", the other is synchronisation.

The "Data Suppliers" page has a table "Update Other SLDs", do the fucntionality is clear.

However, the "Synchronisation" page has two tables; "Sync Subscriptions" and "Sync Notifications of Remote SLDs".

Whats the functional difference between "Data Suppliers" and "Synchronisation"?

See attached files for illustration.

Hi Anthony,

Synchronisation:

Using Synchronisation is depends on system landscape, suppose  you might face requirement to run more than one SLD system and to transport content between these different SLD system.

If there is any content change then use Synchronisation in SLD and define the required topology and perform automated synchronization of all content changes without regular manual operation.

Data supplier:

The Data supplier perform reverse activity like if you have deleted any system in landscape ,the system data still exists in SLD, The data supplier programs report data about the systems in your landscape to the SLD.

Thank you,

Raj
