BO4 - renaming business layer and data foundation layer

Hi,

Have executed following steps in Information Design Tool

1)  Imported unx from repository

2)  Renamed business and dat afoundation layer as wish to export this universe with different name

3)  When try and rexport back to repository says universe with name already exists at that location when doesn't.

In old Universe Design tool could simply change name of universe as parameter.

Is there something similar in IDT tool?

Would have thought renaming of busness and data foundation layer would have been enough.

How can we export new unx with different name if renaming business layer isn't enough?

Thanks

Hello Philip,

Retrieve the business layer into a local project, open it and rename it. The name change will not reflect.

Save and publish it to the repository and observe that it is published with the new name.

If you are facing issues, I suggest you to raise an incident to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks,

Hi Madhumitha,

Thanks for reply.

Didn't realise had to actually open business layer - would have hoped renaming the actual .blx would have been sufficient.

What about the data foundation layer - does it have a name property- can't see it?

Can only see option to rename the actual .dlx file in the local project

Thanks

Hi Philips ,

To Rename the Data Foundation Layer , Right Click on your DFX file in your local project and you will see a Rename option , there you can rename your Data Foundation Layer. Then you can Rename your Business Layer also in same fashion.Ideally you should keep same name for your Universe Connection , its DF layer and  BL Layer.

Cheers,

KAPIL
