Portal Request Failed - No specific exception

Hi experts,

"all of a sudden" - at least everybody claims to be innocent - we cannot deploy any vc-models on a specific portal. Even the smallest model (iView + empty form) causes an error "Portal Request Failed - No specific exception" when deploying. Strange enough, I cannot find any hints in the log files:

- Everything is version 700.10.0.*

- VC-Client: Log Severity: Info and Trace Severity: Debug

- colleagues getting the same error

- log files of NetWeaver Administrator are not showing anything (at the moment the error occurs)

- restarting the portal app didn't help

- file "Resolving visual composer issues" didn't give any promising hints

Any hints? Any help? Any hope?

I can only guess:

- Were the users changed and you have different authorizations?

- Try delete the cache

Otherwise would need to know more details, log, trace etc. if possible and if you can squeeze this out of the log (which is currently not showing anything).

Hi Mario,

thank you for guessing! I will definitetly try your hints, but I don't think that's the reason. However, I was able to find out some more:

1. I can deploy to WebDynpro. So maybe it's a flex server problem?

2. Some services (VCDeployService) were stopped. I restarted the services but still I can't deploy to flash.

3. The log files still don't log anything at the moment the deployment fails.

Any hints & clues are welcome!!!

Short update: After screening all log files, reproducing the error several times and after having played all cards, we decided to open a SAP message. I hope that help comes soon.

Hello Benjamin,

Did you fix the problem? I have a same issue when I try to deploy a copy of a model and displays Portal request failed: no specific exception.

If you recieved a solution can you share it ?
