Hi All,
What all recovery options we have in XI if the target system is down for very long time
in async scenario ??
-> Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the
target system is dowm for very long time.
If this is possible, will there be any links in that mail which will allow the
alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
We are on nw2004s SP9.
Can anyone help.
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Chemmanz
Hi Chemmanz,
It is possible to send alerts with the error Id, so that the administrators can understand the receiver is down.
Regarding restart of msgs, there are some standard report programs available which can be scehduled periodically. These reports will reprocess all errored asynch msgs.

if the target system is down then the Message is stored in XI and tries number of retry times set in ur coonfiguration before throughing an error.
we can configure alerts for this . when we get error this an adapter error we can configure the adapter errprs .
fo configiring alters check the blogs from Michal

Chemmaz,
To understand how messages can be restarted automatically, a must read blog,
/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/11/29/xi-how-to-re-process-failed-xi-messages-automatically
If the target system is down, by default XI's Adapters try to resend the messages at an interval of 5 minutes three times and then go into the SYSTEM ERROR status.
You can resned these message manually , from RWB --> message Monritoing --> Resend option.
Or automatically as shown in the blog by Naveen.
Alerts can be configured to intimate you if the message goes into System Error status. This is shown in this blog,

Hi All,
Thank u all for your quick reply.
But my second part of my qn dosen't have a proper answer yet.
-> Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the
target system is dowm for very long time.
If this is possible, will there be/can we configure any links in that mail which will allow the alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?

Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the target system is dowm for very long time.
Yes we can send Alters from XI . let clarify one thing here alters are triggred immedaitely when their any failure in Adapter or mapping or etc then immdeaitely it is sendt so theirt is no such things for this "details if the target system is dowm for very long time". it does not differencate it long or short.
If this is possible, will there be/can we configure any links in that mail which will allow the alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
chekc the blog for alter step by step from Michal
