BO4 - best way to copy a .unx file + replace of existing database table with another

Hi,

We wish to take a copy of an existing unx and amend this.

What is best way to do this?

Thought would could do this via CMC but doesn't seem to be an option.

Finding that when try and do replace a database table with another in data foundation layer get errors

so don't want to export.

want check copy first.

Also why would get incompatibility errors - seems that the replace in data foundation layer even though saved cascaded through to business layer.

Hello Philip,

You could retrieve a universe to the local project, make the necessary changes and save it. At any point, while editing, you can remove a table and replace it with another table. Assuming, you are deleting a table and adding a new one, you could remove the obsolete objects from the business layer and add the new objects. Post this, you can export it to a new location or replace the older one.

Thanks for the helpful replies.

Just to let you know did following to resolve issue.

Right-clcik on table in dat afoundation layer/selected edit and renamed to replace table with identical table with different name.

To create copy imported into local project and opened business layer and changed name within name propertyyand renamed the business layer.
