What is the importance of the clients 000,001 and 006 in SAP?

Can anyone explain me what is the importance of the clients 000,001 and 006 in SAP?

Client 000

Reference client from SAP concerning customizing

Is usually used as source for client copy operations

Can be used by Administrators who want to avoid having strong authorizations in productive clients

Should not be used as productive client

Client 001

Template client from SAP which can be used as productive client, however, often another client is used

Client 066

Has been used by SAP to deliver support (EarlyWatch client)

Is not used anymore! 

Client 800 and 810

No special meaning

If provided by SAP than these clients belong to a IDES demo/training system

Client 000 often referred as golden client contains tables with SAP default settings.

Client 001 is a copy of client 000. Once an upgrade is performed, client 001 will not be a copy of client 000

Client 006 I am not very sure. But there exists a client 066 that is used for Early watch and Monitoring services.

Hi Vimala,

Clients 000, 001 and 066 are standard clients that are pre-delivered by SAP. These clients are not supposed to be used in development, quality and production environments.

Client 000 is basically used as working client only when you do support pack upgrade or ABAP load generations (SGEN) and implementing additional languages, etc. Otherwise, client 000 should not be used as a working client. The same applies to client 001. But the only exception with 001 is, with Solution Manager, 001 will be your working client. You will do all configurations and obtain support from SAP through this client. With other Systems like BW and CRM, this client (001) will not be a working client. Two standard users (SAP* and DDIC) are defined in the clients 000 and 001.The client 066 is used only for EarlyWatch functions (Monitoring and performance). The user EarlyWatch is delivered in client 066 and is protected using the password SUPPORT. This password needs to be changed for security purposes.

Hi,

these observation add to explanation above.

the client 000 is very important because is SAP reference client and it can be copied using the client copy function.

the client 066 is a service client that enables to SAP to access remotely to the customer system for analyze errors and performance.

Hi, this is an explanation:

client 000 is the SAP reference client and contains tables with default settings ( no master data ).

client 066 is the client used by SAP for its Early Watch Services.

client 001 borns identical to client 000 and it it use for preparation production client. After any upgrade client 001 will not be identical to client 000.

in non ides have 000,001,066 only

000 is a master client (or) golden clients, it is any error is occurs to support for 001

in sap* can used to logging for first, password is 06071992, then second time we can used user name: PASS , password is 19920706
