1 SLD and 2 LMDB or 2 SLD and 2 LMDB

Hello!

We are already using one Solution Manager 7.1 with local SLD and LMDB.

Now we would like to install an additional Solution Manager system and having some questions about SLD, LMDB.

Is it possible and makes it sense from performance reasons to connect this new Solution Manager to the existing SLD of first Solution Manager?

We then will have 1 SLD and 2 LMDB.

Or is it better to install second SLD and to have 2 SLD and 2 LMDB?

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

The SLD is installed with the installation, so you don't have to put in any extra effort.

Just setup a bridge from your "old" sld to your "n wew" sld and it will be filled instantly.

As for strategy....

This is what I would suggest.

One standalone central SLD, all systems register here.

Setup a bridge to all other SLD's (PI dev/qas/prd, SSM dev/qas/prd).

This way you won't get any unwanted PI data in SSM and the orher way around.

Your central SLD does nothing besides collecting all data, and bridging it to PI/SSM.

If you don't have PI, you should be okay registering everything in SSM prd, and bridging that to your SSM dev/qas.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

David

Hello!

We did not have yet XI/PI-systems in our system landscape.

Are there any performance issues in case of installation local SLD compared to bridge connection to existing SLD?

No, both shouldn't cause any trouble.
