SCM version 7.02 APO - MAPE Calculation and zeros (Auto Models/)

Has SAP fixed their MAPE calculation in regards to zeros.  I understand that there is a note OSS 849019 which addresses the issue.  The below article gives the background at the core of the problem.

Why are the Auto Models so poor at selecting a model when it is simply fitting a model to historical data?

Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated.

Hi,

about the auto models, they do a poor job because the tool is simple and the task IS complicated. It is not only a problem of fitting, but also of avoiding the wrong fit. Performance is probably also an issue. Also, I wonder what would be the acceptance of planners towards a more statistics-based tool.
