Can SRM- MDM Catalog 7.02 be directly installed in SRM 7.02 ?

Hi SAP Gurus

Please provide clarification on the below -

Whether SRM- MDM Catalog 7.02 installation can be directly installed in SRM 7.02 as we can see all the required MDM components in the download of SRM-MDM catalog or it definitely need a separate MDM server.

Hi Uday,

There is no restriction between SRM-MDM catalog and SRM_SERVER.

However the version of SRM-MDM catalog should be matching with MDM catalog.

SRM system based on NW ABAP 7.0 EHP1 SP08  (full ABAP)

SAP MDM catalog configured as :

MDM Import manager	7.1	-	06	-
NW JAVA	7.0	EhP2	07	-

Hi,

Please read note 1641455

it says that SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP10 Patch06 is based on MDM 7.1 SP06.

If they are matching well, then it should work well.

Similarly, for other versions, you can also find such note to talk about this restriction.

Hi Uday,

You can install MDM on an SRM server provided you have a go ahead from your BASIS team that there will be no performance problems, but make sure it has a JAVA system to connect to.

JAVA system is mandatory for SRM MDM Catalog.

Also as mentioned above make sure you use the right SRM MDM version.

Could you please elobarate your question clearly ??

Its always good to have MDM server separately. SRM-MDM 7.02 with SP09 is current running version.

If you have Java portal  connected to MDM server then deploy below components in portal as well.

BP_SRM_MDM

MDM_CONNECTOR

MDM_JAVA_API

MDM_WEB_UI

SRM_MDM_CAT

These components should be of same version of MDM server( like if MDM server is on 7.02 SP9 then above components on portal should be on 7.02 SP9). Hope this clarifies your question

I got same doubt on my environment.

I have installed SRM 7.02. Now the second step is to install SRM - MDM (Central System for SRM-MDM Catalog).

May I install SRM-MDM Catalog on same server I have installed SRM 7.02?
