User-Defined data types sql server 2012

I'm trying to use UDT with a SQL Server 2012 DB which includes columns in tables using User-Defined data types.  The columns which have no User-Defined data types import into the universe fine from the table the columns with User-Defined data types don't even appear in the table browser.

I've checked that the user has access to the User-Defined data types as they are visible in Studio.

What's happening?

Hello John,

I do not think that user defined data types are supported in Business Objects.
