Missing functions in RESTful SDK

Hi Experts,

I started to have a closer  look at the RESTful SDK and wanted to prepare a migration of a 3.1 project.

What I would like to know is, if there is a REST replacement for the following functions, as I was unable to find it in the documentation.

The product I'm working with is version 14.0.5.

  • How to get information about the currently logged on user?
    • What is his/her eMail address
    • What is his/her full name
    • To wich group/groups does that user belong to
    • Favorites folder
    • Inbox folder
  • Get something by name
    • How to query for a folder "xyz" (any hierarchy level)
  • Authentication
    • Trusted
    • Active Directory

I really appreciate all hints in any direction.

Thanks in advance

Jan

Hello Jan

All I can provide is links to resources. I've not done much (actually any ) work with RESTful SDK. But I have been watching out for things as they come across. Anyhow, here is all I have:

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4_cr_restful_ws_en.pdf

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/owY_Ew

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/RESTful+APIs

Hope the above is a bit of help. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can chase down more help.

Hi Ludek,

thanks for the time writing down your response. I knew most of the resources already, but its a nice wrapup to have them all in one place now.

Could you confirm, that the functions I mentioned are not implemented in Platform- or WebI-REST SDK?

Hi Ludek,

the most important answers for me are about the authentication stuff, cause that would mean a real big limitation.

All other things are convenience methods that make our life easier, but Trusted or AD-Authentication is essential.

Thanks for taking care of that!
