Error while upgrading to EHP3

Hi all,

        During Upgrade to ECC6 EHP3 we got this following error after selecting the Target Stack File.The log file shows as follows,

Apr 9, 2013 9:18:05 AM [Error ]: The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.spxmlparser.SPXmlParserException: Cannot construct a support package stack from file F:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\SMSDXML_INDEX.xml.

F:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\SMSDXML_INDEX.xml does not contain a stack definition as its root element is SMSDXML, while sp-stacks is expected.

Can Anyone give the reason for this error and how to correct this.

Hi Mathan,

The EPS/IN folder does not have the all contents which are mentioned in .xml.

So, please regenerate the .xml and add in EPS/in folder.

please check and share the log(SCAN_INBOX) in which you can get the missing one.

I don't know about SCAN_INBOX where can I see that

Is there any log showing the missing files..?

Hi Mathan,

Scan_inbox basically is one of the options to search the files from /EPS/in folder during the ugprade.

Could you perform this step and check all the updated logs during this step.

Hi,

While upgrading , in the step where it asks for path of XML , select your xml file and click on next and the on the very next screen , you can see whether EPS/in has all the required patches or not as in xml .

We have same issue and we have corrected it by this way only .
