Purchase order is the request send by the customer to vendor in requiring some goods or services

The sales order is a contractual agreement between a sales organization and a sold-to party about delivering products or providing a service for defined prices, quantities and times and is created by the supplier/vendor to the customer

Hi

Delivery (created using VL01N) - is a 'document' - remember this. This is not the physical DELIVERY to the Ship-to-party.

Delivery - A Sales order created in the SAP systems has to be delivered to the customer. This doc (created using vl01n) signifies that the material is ready for dipatch and various shipping activities.

Good Issue - Once the goods/services have been physically moved out of the company premises (might not have been delivered at the customers place) - you do a Post Goods Issue

Hope this clarifies

HI Pawar,

As we know SAP is basically used for company's internal use (mostly) if customer wants to buy a product from the company he places aPurchase order (it is PO from Buyers prespective) and you create the same in SAP system calles as Sales Order (SO from Sellers Prespective). created using VA01

PO: is Our Company is trying to buy material from Vendors. It is create dusing ME21N

Delivery: is document created with ref to SO and this is basic doc required to perform activites in Plant/Stores and despatch material to Ship-to-party. Create during VL02N.

In normal sales cycle it is a delivery which you intend to do to the customer. In case of a Stock transfer then delievry is created for goods transorted from one Plant to another.

Hope this clarifies

REWARD IF IT HELPS

Hi;

It is just a perspective I would say and the way the transaction are treated.

Let us say, you want to Purchase something and you order it, from your perspective u r pplacing a Purchase order. For the seller it is a sale, he calls it as a Sales order.

Well, this is a broad outlook. Hope u get the concept.

Regards.
