How to Assign a Forecast Profile to a Selection Id (which has Exclusions in it) in APO DP?

Hello,

All of our selection Ids work and after Univariate Forecast Save, the selection ids get assigned to the chosen Forecast Profile (meaning by that the selection ids and the chosen Forecast Profile with all the parameters etc. are saved and visible in the forecast assignment table (i.e. /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 - Environment -> Assign Forecast Profiles to a Selection).

But the selection Ids which have the Exclusions included, don’t get assigned to the chosen Forecast Profile (meaning by that the selection ids and the chosen Forecast Profile with all the parameters etc. are NOT saved and not visible in the forecast assignment table). Hence every time for those selection ids which have the exclusions included we get a pop up window asking for the Forecast Profile.

We tried getting the Forecast Assignments for the selection Ids which have the Exclusions included through the following TWO general methods included in SAP APO DP but it didn’t work. Although it works fine for the regular selection ids which don’t have the Exclusions included.

1.      ·        On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization ® Demand Planning ® Environment ® Assign Forecast Profile to Selection.

2.      ·        On the screens for the maintenance of the detailed forecast profiles (univariate, MLR, and composite), choose Goto ® Assignment.

Please provide your expert advice.

Thank you for your time.

Srinivas

Hi Srinivas,

T.code /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 does not accept wild characters or exclude values in selection id. You need to explicitly define the values.

Thanks,

Hi Srinivas,

As mentioned by Rajesh, as per the SAP Documentation only single or multiple values are allowed for a characteristic and you cannot enter ranges or exclude values.
