HR Renewal 1.0 Installation problem

Hi,

Our basis guy recently installed HR Renewal 1.0 on our system using the Administrator's Guide. We are able to load up the landing page but got an error that the SAPUI5 library was missing. We noticed that it was located somewhere else then in the HTML page indicated. When relocating it we could see the landing page but not much is working. The look and feel is there but when you click down on something it doesn't work.

Now trying to configure the landing page i was looking for the path Personnel management -> Personnel & Organization -> Landing Page but couldn't find this anywhere.

I thought that there was some sort of installation missing (I am not a basis consultant) but according to our basis guy everything should be installed correctly.

It looks like everything is in a different place then the guide indicates or is missing.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can fix this and how to get the landing page to work properly?

Sounds like your system hasn't been correctly configured since your are missing the IMG node. I'm guessing the business function HCM_PAO_CI_2 hasn't been activated. Are you sure your basis admin followed the guide step by step? Can you send a list of installed components in your system? Is NetWeaver Gateway in the same system as HCM?

I'm looking at different Administrator Guides and notice a difference in the last two. It might be that we are on an older version and that's why I can't see the IMG node?

Anyway, I cannot find the business function HCM_PAO_CI_2 but there is an HCM_PAO_CI_1 which isn't activated.

Netweaver Gateway is indeed installed in the same system as HCM.

You have the correct components installed. There is no guide for SP6, only SP5 or SP10 so you will have to do some tasks without guidance. Yes, HCM_PAO_CI_2 is present in newer SPs, please do however activate the switch HCM_PAO_CI_1 which is available in your release.

once you activate the switch  you ll see the SPRO path and of course you can launch the standard role from PFCG ie execute it

I activated HCM_PAO_CI_1 and i can not see it in the IMG, thanks!

The problem we are having is that when we lookup a person within the landing page and want to look at that persons personnel data it is not loading. Actually non of the links work. You can only search for employees but that's it. If you want to launch actions the same thing. You see them but when you click them nothing happens.

Do they need to be configured somehow within the IMG? There is not much under landing page -> actions.

Just to clarify: do you now see the IMG nodes? Because you wrote "I can not see".

is much better giving advice in this matter since I do not have a HR renewal system to test with. Anyway you could use HTTPwatch to find out which ICF services are being accessed and whether the access is succesful or not.

Sorry typo ... i can see it now.

I got it working to! I was loading it from the sap gui which opened IE9 but there clicking the links did not work. When I open it in NWBC it works perfect! Don't know if it's normal but it works!

What is the selected Security Zone in Internet Explorer? Is the generated URL in FQDN format or short format? You could also try the compatibility mode in IE to see if it makes a difference.

When I click a link(Create Organizational Unit) this is the url it is pointing to:

When you are using IE, what is displayed in the address location as URL? Is it in short or long (FQDN) format? Check also the active Security Zone.

The links inside the application look like that, it's a launchpad (lpd) navigation link. Navigation is implemented by a combination of Javascript and ABAP.

Also can you check if there is ACTIVEX filtering enabled in your IE
this has been a issue in IE9, just check it in the address bar you ll see the symbol

I may be missing the point here,but my understanding is HR Renewal 1.0 works only for NWBC. The enterprise portal functionality is due to be delivered as a future enhancement.

I'm using a domain name in IE but it is translated to an ip in the local hosts file on my computer.

The security zone in IE is set to Medium-high.

Also, Note EA HR determines your Enhancement package level not SA HR, SO check your EA HR

HCM_ANALYTICS_2 is activated and I can see the launchpad but i'm having trouble showing it on the HR Renewal landing page and loading it from there.

there is a section called Analytics and it comes from Launchpad role of HRPAO instance reporting

in lpd_cust

verify this and of course since you can see SPRO, you can verify it in analytics section
