Hi experts ;

what are the post steps for Oracle DB recovery  in case of  the installation type is different  and different host name  ??

i am trying to restore SAP ERP production  System (clustered ), on central installation with same SID , the complete restoration has been done and the  DB is running in open state , but there is not connection between SAP application and Oracle DB .

this the Details for Source System

SAP ERP6 clustered  system  (2 physical node)

OS: Linux Redhat 5

DB:  Oracle 11.2 with client 11.2

SID: E1R

virtual host name: r01se1rdb

this the Details for Target System

SAP ERP6 central installation (VM Machine)

OS: Linux Redhat 5

DB:  Oracle 11.2 with client 11.2

SID: E1R

virtual host name: r01se1r

the installation type is different

What do you mean by installation type is different ?

Why the SID is kept same ?

I believe the source and target systems are not connected in any way.

You might need to apply the SAP license as the hardware key can be different.

You also need to configure the TMS
