backup issue with SYSTEM user

Hi All,

We are getting logon errors when we try to run the online backups.

While initiating the backups we get the credential errors,

Below are the errors for your reference.

BR0301E SQL error -1017 at location BrDbConnect-2, SQL statement:

'CONNECT system/*******'

ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

BR0310E Connect to database instance XXX failed

Am able to connect to database via SYSTEM user via SQLPLUS ,but still facing issue with backups trigeer

Please let me know is there any setting to avoid the  online  database backup trigger  with user SYSTEM and is it feasible to use ora<sid> or any other user ?

Hi Avadhesh,

Refer following SAP notes

ORA-01017 with BRARCHIVE/BRBACKUP in a run

1576837 ORA-01017: invalid username/password;

System user is not being used while using brtools to take backup.

You may additionally check the status of OPS$ user using the command

select username, account_status from dba_users;

have you checked this note ?
