MDM Workflow between main tables

Hi Experts,

Please assist me to find the best solution for below requirement.

We have 2 different main tables, A-Customer and B-Contact Persons. If we maintain the relationship of Contact person in A-Customer table using look up then correspondingly Customer ID should be updated in  B-Contact Person table. We would like to achieve this internally in MDM using workflow.

Is it possible to write an work between 2 different main tables, according to my developers it is not possible?
