hi,
Recently we have installed BODS4.1 and created the first job. It is running into an error.
10916 2470688544 FIL-080101 3/28/2013 12:08:06 PM Cannot open file <C:/SAP BODS/Customerinput.txt>. Check its path and permissions.
I have made sure the file permissions on local system is updated with full control. I run out of options, on looking for what?
Please advise the solution.
Thanks,
Suraj Pabbathi
Suraj,
The file should be placed on the server where the job server resides. Here's the link for more understanding - http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EIM/Shared+Directory+access

Hi Arun,
I have the same issue using BODS xi4.1 and SAP BW 7.3.
May you please elaborate the scenario on how to load Excel or CSV files, which are stored on a shared network folder and not on the BODS server?
Is it possible at all?
We would like to offer the business team to save their data on their shared folder, which we are going to populate into BW via BODS.
Have you ever or someone else used the FTP settings?
Thank you very much.
bye Ömer
Hi,
Its possible to access from shared folder, see this -
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EIM/Shared+Directory+access
Possible with FTP also, for which you have to use a exec(). Connect a script after dataflow and in the script include exec('cmd', 'ftp.exe -s xyz.txt',8). I have not used it before, but its easy to play around and figure out.

Hi Arun,
I am facing the same problem. I have saved CSV file in desktop and whenever i try to access the file in BODS i am getting an error "cannot open file. check the path permission".
And in the services(As mentioned in the link which you shared previously) i am not able to see the option Businessobjects data services properties(Local computer). It means that something missed while installing BODS? How can i access my CSV file in BODS.
Please help me!!
thanks in advance!!!

Mathivanan
