Dialog instance installation error

  Hi ,

While doing dialog instance installation , i am facing an error

O/S : Linux

Database : oracle

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > Software Life-Cycle Options > Application Server > Oracle > Dialog Instance( Last error reported by the step :Unable to set owner /oracle/client/10x_64 for aovadm.). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Please suggest.

HI Siddhesh,

  I believe you are running the sapinst with sidadm...

If yes, please stop and start running as root user.

If you are still facing the issue, you can manually set the permissions for /oracle/client /10x_64 to orasid:sapsys

I have added aovadm to sapsys group already and  i m running the installation using root.

Hi Siddhesh,

Please make the directory permission as 777 for /oracle/client/10x_64.

Then retry.

Hi,

Can you please attach sapinst.log from sapinst_dir ?

Also check if you can log as ora<sid> and run tnsping your dbsid.

Guys ,

Issue was fixed as follow.

Unix team changed the attributes on NFS server in /etc/exports.

they enabled

on NFS Server no_root_squash option was enabled for app server
