Hi gurus,

My client is having a specification that, one activity is planned with 3 persons and with 4 machines to complete that activity. Suddenly if one of the machine gets break down or one person is not available. So they want to lend machine or person from other team(internal) if the resource is not available then we have to lend them from outside (external) to complete the Activity.

How can we capture the above in SAP PS? Kindly show some path how to capture this in SAP PS?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Seshagiri,

I think this scenario can be captured via ICRRB ( Inter Company Resource Related Billing ) in SAP PS. It is a standard SAP functionality which is effective in handling cross company resource assignment and allocation of project expenses and revenue.

The scenario starts with the creation of an inter-company sales contract (T code VA41). After that the project is created, and attached to a Sales order. The pre-determination of required materials, which is fixed in the customer sales order, triggers the generation of a network based upon a standard network template.

Since the network activities are assigned to the company’s different divisions (Inter company partners), they are assigned to the appropriate work centers. The work centers in turn have employees (resources that perform network activities) assigned to them, in order to allow time booking on to the project network activity. The use of work force planning depends on business model and can be used as an option.

The project is structured according to WBS elements and their linked network activities, which drive the procurement, assignment of personnel, and cost analysis. The WBS element of the project is copied to the sales order so that all costs and revenues are cumulated on the project.

After personnel are assigned to project activities, the project is released for time recording. As work is performed, employees record time in the Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) after which it is transferred to project system for cost collection. Period-end activities are carried out with results analysis and project settlement, which can be performed periodically and/or at the end of the project following its technical completion.

The project structure allows the dynamic adjustment in scope of activities at any time throughout the project, i.e. Network activities can be added or modified at any point during the project. This process concludes with settlement of the project to profitability analysis.
