Hello,

I`m trying to connect a R/3 4.6c to an Active Directory via LDAP. The problem is that i can`t map and synchronize like in a WEB AS 6.40 version. The interfaces in TA LDAP also don`t match. Does someone have experience in connecting a AD to 4.6c via LDAP?

Regards,

Hello Michael,

We've managed to setup the connection between SAP 4.7 component Basis 6.20. There is a document in SAP Help 'SAP Directory Services' which entails a step-by-step instruction to perform the setup.

Only difference with the steps detailed, we did not change the MS AD schema, but utilize existing fields of MS AD for mapping.

Hello Michael

The synchronization of user data with an LDAP compatible directory (like MS AD) was supported as of SAR R/3 release 6.10. 4.6C/D releases were able to work with the LDAP Connector, but the functionality for synchronization of user master records was not implemented, the only way would be to implement your own solution.

With the R/3 release 4.6, the connectivity to directory servers using LDAP is possible with ldap_rfc. But to be able to use the data coming from the directory, the applications inside R/3 (like user administration) must get aware of this connection and that is built into the system starting with release 6.10.

SAP note 448360 gives further information regarding this.
