error “Product data could not be interpreted"

Hi Group

We had build a custom catalog that calls R/3 real-time for (non-valuated) materials, which creates shopping carts & follow-on documents ok. No replication of material into COMMPR01 needed on SRM.

Due to the huge (Direct) material volume we do not replicate any material from R/3 into SRM.

The problem we have is…

…when we integrate into this catalog valuated materials (Direct) for conducting bidding & contracts scenarios in SRM with Direct Materials.

There’s a FM ‘BBP_PRODUCT_PURCHASE_READ_API’  that raise an error as it does not find the Product GUID and any valuated material on COMM_PRODUCT Table. The FM’s run in sequence & during his run & validation  gives the following error:

“Product data could not be interpreted"

We have debugged and checked the different places & ways to achieve the functionality as non- valuated materials.

However, the error seems to be derived due  to the lack of  Product GUID o the different validation stages  as Prod GUID seems to  plays key role in deriving many attributes like product hierarchy , category  GUID etc.

Does anyone have any suggestion how we shall tackle or avoid this Product GUID Validation.

I have not worked with this FM before but, have you set the import parameter I_IGNORE_XNOSEARCH to 'X'?
