Generate User ID in access request form

Is it possible to generate the user/sap ID in the standard access request form with a pre-defined rule based on your input for the first & last name?

Possible solution I thought about would be to create a custom field in a custom template with a BFR rule and replace the standard user id field. But then again as a naming convention for SAP IDs is most common GRC should provide an easier solution in my opinion.

partially what you are suggesting is right, but so far in most cases I have seen generating user ID was rather part of iDM solution functionality than GRC. This philosophy was applied in SAP world.

The user ID is automatically created by SAP NetWeaver IDM. SAP NetWeaver IDM sends back the automatically generated user ID and email address to SAP ERP HCM. The back-provisioning to the employee record is a new functionality of SAP NetWeaver IDM Release 7.1 together with SAP Business Suite 7.0 EhP4.
