Subcontracting challan 4(5)b

Former Member

Hello Team,

I have a requirement to map subcontracting challan for 4(5)b. Here, no legalities that material should return in 180 days. Also i wanted to give different number range for this challan. Different subcon attrributes can be maintained with the help of different subtransaction types. However, as observed the Subcon challan creation (J1if01) screen do not have provision to enter sub transaction type.

Let me know if anyone has handled this before.

Thanks

Hello,

Subtransaction type "01" is mandatory for all subcontracting related

transactions. This is default subtransaction type for subcontracting.

The same should be configured in the below path:

SPRO > Logictics general > Tax on goods mvmt > India > Business transact

ions > Subcontracting > Subcontracting attributes...

Hello Rajasree,

Thanks for the reply.

Thats correct. The subtransaction type '01' is mandatory for subcon.

Normally the subcon challans we use are 4(5)a challans which helps material to be sent to subcontractor for processing and should be returned within 180 days.

The requirement is to map process for 4(5)b challans, where no restriction that material should return within 180 days.

The only parameter which will help to configure different subcon attributes apart from transaction type, excise grp is subtransaction type.

Thanks

Hello,

For subcontracting you cannot use another subtransaction type other than 01.

So in this case , if feasible you can create a new excsie grp for these 4(5)b cahllans alone,

where there is no restriction on the 180 days period.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Thanks. However, excise group has legal framework. Excise group defines identifiable area as per excise rules and regulations.

Thanks

Hello,

Yes Excise grp has a legal implication. I do not see any other ways for getting this done,

becasue the system will check  only for subtransaction type as '01' for subcontracting activities.

Pls check if the user-exit "J_1I7_USEREXIT_UPDATE_STYPE" is helpful in anyway.

Hi,

Your requirement can not be completed in SAP. Also it is against law in india.

There is only one way which is happening correctly in your system.

Hi,

Subtraction type 01 for Subcontracting procedure  and IP for import procurement  is hard code in SAP standard  and we have to use that only ,if we changes it it wont work.
