Safety Stock Planning in PPDS

I need to use static safety stock planning in PPDS in MTS scenario.

I am using heuristics “SAP_PP_019 – Create Safety Stock in SAP live Cache” to create SS in live cache.

The issue is in netting.

Planning run is creating a purchase requisition for safety stock as a receipt element. The pegging shows Preq is pegged to safety stock.

As soon as the Preq is converted into PO the pegging breaks and safety stock no more considers PO as a receipt element. Fresh planning run creates another additional preq.

If you don't wish to use expert James' suggestion, you might want to increase the value of the "Maximum Lateness" in the Product Master.  This will allow Pegging of Safety stock requirements to Fixed receipts (such as Purchase Orders) even if the Purchase orders are a bit later than the SS requirement date.

Hi,

I would advise by definin an offset (say 2-3 days) in the heuristics settings to stabilize de situation (each time you run the heuristic, ss demand is moved one day, therefore created PO is no longer covered and MRP creates a new one after netting, tesulting in unplanned excess)
