Hi,

Can anyone explain why zero price shopping cart is allowed in SRM?

If the cart is eventually getting converted to a PO and PO doesnt allow zero value item, what is the use of allowing zero price item in shopping cart?

Hi,

Zero price in SC and PO is allowed to handle 'Free of Charge' items.

PO can be created with zero price item, you just need to take-off 'invoice expected' indicator

Hi

this may required in case requester do not know the actual price of the line item.
After approval, SC will be in purchaser's work list and purchaser can give the actual price of item/ can replace with catalog item/create sourcing event to get the bid for the line item for price.

Thanks

Hello,

As Amit mentioned for example if you are buying computer, you get free items such as mouse pad, key board etc where some organization do want to consider that while receiving it... That is why $0 shopping cart is allowed. Also it will be based on how your workflow has set up? If you are creating one line item shopping cart with $0 but the workflow which is set up in your organization does not allow that then you see error message.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
