Could not create the Java virtual machine during Solution Manager Copy

Hello ,

I am performing soultion Manager 7 EhP1 copy and getting error as : "SDM call of stopServer ends with returncode 1 "

Log files contain below error:

CJSlibModule::writeWarning_impl()

Execution of the command "/bin/sh -c /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/SDM/program/StopServer.sh" finished with return code 1. Output:

running on HP-UX better use the  '-XdoCloseWithReadPending' option

Starting '/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe/sapjvm_4/bin/java' '-XdoCloseWithReadPending' '-Xmx512M' -jar '/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/SDM/program/bin/SDM.jar' shutdown

'sdmguiport=50018' 'sdmhome=/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/SDM/program'

Unrecognized option: -XdoCloseWithReadPending

Converting exception into JS Exception Exception.

I tried manually stopping SDM but did not help. I am using Software provisioning tool for system copy and as per my understanding I do not need to set JAVA_HOME as it comes with same package.

I tried changing JAVA_HOME to java 1.4 and stopping SDM but did not help.

Please suggest what could be the reason?

Hi,

Please check what is the value of jstartup/startup/vmhome in the instance profile... It should point to sapjvm_4

If your system is of JAVA based,  and if you want to switch to SAPJVM, then you have to use SAP JVM swtich tool for it.

Please also make sure that you have set the parameters as per the below note.

Note 1603093 - SAP JVM 4.1 parameters NetWeaver 2004 and 7.0
