SRM Shopping Cart -> Purchase Order Vendor Text Truncation

Hello Everyone,

We are currently running the Extended Classic Scenario within SRM 7.0 SP8, ECC 6.0 EHP6.  When shopping carts are being created with vendor text associated with the line item, the vendor text is being truncated.  We have located two OSS Notes (1604293 and 1662702) in order to resolve the issue on the shopping cart however, the vendor text truncation still remains on the purchase order.

Example of issue:

Vendor text, within the longtext field can only hold 132 characters and then it creates a second line for the longtext to be added completly, so if a user creates a vendor text with 136 characters the long text would have the following:

longtext line 1: 132 characters

longtext line 2: 4 characters

If the vendor text was created with 550 characters the long text would have the following:

longtext line 1: 132 characters

longtext line 2: 132 characters

longtext line 3: 132 characters

longtext line 4: 132 characters

longtext line 5: 22 characters

It seems that on the creation of the purchase order the vendor text is not holding the last long text line and therefore it is being truncated.

Has anyone every had this issue before and if so, is there an OSS Note that I can implement in order to fix it?

Hello Kath,

The note 1662702 solves the issue for the longtext truncation. We had faced similar and after the implementation of the note the issue is resolved.

Hi Catherine,

We have implemented OSS Note #1604293 and 1662702 into our system and while these notes fixed the shopping cart vendor text truncation, it did not fix the truncation within the SRM Purchase Order.  Do you know if you implemented any other OSS Notes in order to fix this issue?

Hi Lee,

check in  general address data of your vendor (R/3 system), then choose from menu EXTRAS > TEXTS. If there taking values correctly then do the mapping of this field SRM 7.0.
