OS migration brconnect error during export statistics

Former Member

Dear all,

I've started the Export preparation for OS migration of Non-Unicode Central instance SAP ECC6.0 NW70 SR2 Oracle 11.2.0.3 on HP-UX 11.31. to RedHat 6.

I'm using the 70SWPM Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP01 70SWPM*.SAR which supports the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3.

The Export preparation phase stoped with the following error:

saphost:/tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW700/LM/COPY/ORA/EXP/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/PREEXP#cat brconnect.log
BR0801I BRCONNECT 7.20 (30)
BR0805I Start of BRCONNECT processing: cekuspzf.sta 2013-03-22 10.12.27
BR0484I BRCONNECT log file: /oracle/TST/sapcheck/cekuspzf.sta

BR0280I BRCONNECT time stamp: 2013-03-22 10.12.31
BR0813I Schema owners found in database TST: SAPR3*, SAPR3SHD+
BR0824E Owner 'SAPSR3' not found in database or not SAP owner
BR0182E Checking parameter/option 'stats_owner/-o' failed

BR0806I End of BRCONNECT processing: cekuspzf.sta 2013-03-22 10.12.31
BR0280I BRCONNECT time stamp: 2013-03-22 10.12.31
BR0804I BRCONNECT terminated with errors

We don't have SAPSR3 shema in the database instance.

Do you know what is the problem?

Can it be because I use the SWPM whic does not support the SR2 version of NW70?

Thank you in advance.

BR,

Ruzica

Hi Ruzica,

Ideally parameter dbs_ora_schema should be set for tstadm user. If not set, please set this and try again.

I set the dbs_ora_schema =SAPR3 in user tstadm and started the installer again witn Run new option.

Then In the part for statistics there is SAPR3 schema:

brconnect -u / -c -o summary -f stats -o SAPR3 -t all -m +I -s P10 -f allsel,collect,method

I'll wait for the statistics to be done and I'll proceed with the installer after for the Export preparation.

Thank you all.

Have a nice weekend.

Hi Ruzica,

   Please don't change anything in keydb.xml or control file.

I feel the issue could be due to some incorrect corrections in the swpm file.

Even when you change it in keydb.xml or control file, in case phase, SWPM will check the environmental variables and update the keydb.xml file.

As i said earlier, you can run the oracle stats manually and continue with the export using SWPM.

If you are still facing the issue and confirm that it is the SWPM issue you can download the installatino master ECC 6.0 and use the system copy option and check.

Mostly you won't face this issue.

I strongly feel that this issue could be due to the SWPM bug ONLY.... If the issue is with the environmental variables, then you will face many issues in your ORACLE.

I hope this information helps.

Hello Vimal,

I wanted to start with the installation master for NW70 SR2, but there were no installation master CD, just upgrade master. That's why I downloaded this SWPM tool as you said.

What kind of issues will be there for ORACLE? Now the dbs_ora_schema =SAPR3 environment solve this issue.

Thank you.

Hi,

I can't find these CDs you've mentioned.

I'm trying with this path:

My Company's Application Components"->My Company's Software-> SAP NETWEAVER" ->SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 ->SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 (Installations and Upgrades) ->Hp_UX->Oracle Database.

Are the CDs on some other path?

Thank you.

Hi Ruzica,

    Please go to http://service.sap.com/swdc -> software center download -> support packages and patches -> installations and Upgrades -> search for installation and upgrades

Search using the following DVD's names and check whether you are able to acccess the DVD's.

NW 7.0 SR3 Inst.Master HP-UX IA64 64bit for Oracle 10.2/11.2

NW 7.1 Inst.Master HP-UX IA64 64bit for Oracle 10.2/11.2

If you don't have access, then you can raise an OSS message to enable the access to download the above DVD's. They will be able to provide the access to download the error-free installation master which you can use it.

Thanks and Regards,

Vimal

Hi

In the SAPINST screen where you were asked the Schema name & password you should provide the name of your current DB schema and its password.

Please check if this was done correctly.

Hi,

There was no part where were asked the Schema name & password in the Export preparation phase.

Hi Ruzica,

I would strongly suggest you to use the latest SWPM and try again.

Please refer the note Note 1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

Secondly, please make sure that you use the correct ABAP schema in the SWPM.

Please try with the new SWPM and check again.

The SWPM is the latest I've just downloaded.

Hi,

If possible can you please share the step by step screenshot of SWPM so that we can try to find out what could be the issue?

You can also perform one more way is like

you can manually execute the brconnect with the correct ABAP Schema ID and in SWPM you an skip it and proceed... This is also a safer way

Thanks and Regards,

Vimal

IN SWPM you will get an option to skip it.. Please skip and run the update stats manually after login as orasid

Hi Ruzica,

1) Are you running the export using sidadm user ?

2) Did it ask for SAP SCHEMA input during inpu parameters before starting the export.

Regards,

Deepak Kori

Hi,

1) NO I'm running with user root.

2) I just started the Export preparation and there was no questions about the SAP SCHEMA just the DB SID and the profile dir /usr/sap/TST/SYS/profile/

Ruzica

In SWPM you dont see an option for changing the ABAP Schema ID...

I think it is taking the default schema ID..

So I suggest you to skip the option and execute it manually.

Hi Ruzica,

Could you run it from sidadm user. It should pick up the required environments for this user.

Hi,

In the documentation , to start the installer should be with root.

Why do you think it should be with sidadm?

BR,

Ruzica

Hi,

You should run as root user only....

We need to check out the issue why it happens

what is your ABAP schema .....???

I believe we need to modify the keydb.xml file accordingly or proceed as per my suggestion.

I dont think any other options here.

Vimal,

is the swmp not suppose to pick up the schema from either the env or from the sapuser table ?

i had the problem before where i just had to change these and mine worked

Hi Vimal,

I started again the installer, and in the part with statistics I saw that it wil use the SAPSR3 schema:

brconnect -u / -c -o summary -f stats -o SAPSR3 -t all -m +I -s P10 -f allsel,collect,method

Now I started the statistics from comand prompt for user oratst and with the right schema:

brconnect -u / -c -o summary -f stats -o SAPR3 -t all -m +I -s P10 -f allsel,collect,method

Then I'll skip the statistics, but the installer will still use the same schema SAPSR3.

What do you think?

BR,

Ruzica

Hi Ruzica,

I dont think it will again.

You can skip and go ...You should be able to take an export...

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Ruzica,

You may stop the installer now. Open control.xml file ( available in installation directory) and do a search for SAPSR3. Replace this value with your schema and save it. Post this restart the Installer and check the results.

hi ruzica

Note 1169802 - Inst.NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1/Business Suite 7 - UNIX/Oracle

--------------------<d023322 ,15/SEP/08>---------------------------

Java, Java Add-In: Error in step "createOracleStatisticsJava"

Symptom:

You changed the default value for the Oracle database Java schema (default value "SAPSR3DB" with a value of your choice.

During installation step "createOracleStatisticsJava", you find the following error in brconnect.log:

BR0824E Owner 'SAPSR3DB' not found in database or not SAP owner

Solution:

Proceed as follows:

    1. Edit keydb.xml.2. Search for dbSchemaJava.3. Replace default value "SAPSR3DB" with your correct java schema value:
    <fld name="dbSchemaJava">
    <strval><![CDATA[SAP<your SCHEMA_ID>DB]]>
    </strval>

There are many places where to change and some are confusing because it checkes if abapSchema1=SAPSR3 or abapSchema1= SAPR3:

  if ( ABAPSchemaEnv || ad1.name != abapSchema || ad1.name == "" || ad1.name == undefined || ad1.name == "undefined" )
  {
    var abapSchema1 = "SAPSR3";
    rowchanged = true;
    // do not update the schema if env is different from keydb and the schema is updated in dialog
    if ( ad1.name == abapSchema && parseBool(abapSchemaUpdate) )
      rowchanged = false;
    if ( ABAPSchemaEnv )
    {
      NW.trace("NWDBora.setABAPSchemaDefault (ABAPSchema: ",ABAPSchemaEnv.value(),")");
      abapSchema1 = ABAPSchemaEnv.value();

      if ( abapSchema1 != "SAPR3" )
      {
        var re = /^SAP(.{3})$/;
        var match = re.exec(abapSchema1);
        if (!match) {
          throw new NWException("nw.progress.invalidSchemaName", abapSchema1);
        }
      }
      if ( abapSchema1 == ad1.name && abapSchema1 == abapSchema )
        rowchanged = false;
    }
  }

And some parts with :

   fileStream.putLine("dbs_syb_schema=SAPSR3");

What should I change ?

make a copy of the file first just in case,

not everywhere,

look for a line that looks like this

<fld name="dbSchema">

<strval><![CDATA[SAP<your SCHEMA_ID>DB]]>

</strval>

then you just add your schema in here

Hi Ruzica,

Please follow Marius's recommendation. Modify keydb.xml file instead of control.xml file.

Look at the guideline suggested by Marius.

Doing this you should be able to pass through.

I searched for SAPSR3 in :

/tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW700/LM/COPY/ORA/EXP/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/PREEXP#cat keydb.1.xml|grep SAPSR3

/tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW700/LM/COPY/ORA/EXP/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/PREEXP#cat keydb.xml|grep SAPSR3

sapds:/tmp/sapinst_instdir/NW700/LM/COPY/ORA/EXP/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/PREEXP#

There is no SAPSR3 in this files.

Hi Ruzica,

Could you raise an OSS message for this. I guess they should be able to help with control.xml modification.
