For planning the configuration for hosts with 256 GB of RAM each would you still allocate device swap of 2x RAM, so 512 GB in this case, just to be safe?
Over in the HP Enterprise Business Community for HP-UX I posted a reply ...[amount of device swap] about how for SAP on HP-UX there is still the general recommendation of 2x RAM for device swap in the Swap/Paging Space in SAP on HP-UX Best Practices - Part 2 which refers to Note 1112627 - SAP on HP-UX: Recommendations for swap and pseudo swap.

For SAP systems on Unix I guess 2 X RAM size is more than enough. Looks a safe bet.
