Dear all,
Our system is SAP ECC6.0 on Windows Server 2008 with DB2 UDB;
Currently we are using DB13 to backup our DB2 database to a direct connected tape everyday.
Now we plan to use a tape cabinet as a central backup device, commonly used by DEV and PRD server.
I would like to know whether it is still possible to use DB13 to backup DB2 to the cabinet? how to define the Device/Directory in DB13 (for DB2)?
and if we use Symantec, I heard that there is an agent/addon especially for SAP, is it true? I asked for Symantec sales however she said they have no such kind of option for SAP......if there really have a Symantec function for SAP backup, is it a general solution for all databases or it has different solution for different database? for example, a dedicated addon for DB2 database backup?
Could you kindly share with me some information/links about DB2 backup via BE?
Thank you so much.
Freshman

Hi Freshman,
Symantec BE does not look like a good option for taking backup of SAP database. Below I furnish some information which should be useful for you.
