setting mailing for company "abc"(company was bought/taken by "cde").

Hello

I have problem when setting mailing for company "abc"(company was bought/taken by "cde").

Namely in trx. scot i set their

SMTP-server "big-mailrelay.cde.local".

Physical connection  from OS "telnet big-mailrelay.cde.local 25" is opened.

However when sending e-mails from SAP I get (in trx. sost) statuses like "still no entry in queue" and "errors"

I do not fully understand "default domain" setting.

I left "abc.com"

Also I tried with "cde.local" but no success.

I got info I should use username: XXXXXXXXX  (jts-mailrelay@cde.local)
and pass: "XXXXXXXXX"

How to deal with such an issue?

Thank you in advance for help

Jan

Hi Jan,

You need to set the domain to the same domain as your SMTP server.

Now, you cannot use uname/pass authentication to connect to the SMTP server so you need to ask your Mail team to add the IP Address of your SAP server to the Relay Agent of the SMTP server. Only then you should be in business...

Also, make sure that your senders have an updated e-mail in their Master Data.

Hello

Juan, thank you very much.

I have set also senders e-mail adress in master address to "cde.local"

As the issue persists how could I trace where the issue is stucked?

Do you have an other idea?

The message I get is "     Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)"

Thank you in advance

Jan

That message is related to the SMTP relay,  Is your SAP system IP added to the relay agent of your SMTP server?, also can you reach your SMTP server on port 25?

I will check it again.

Sorry because I am not too deep in SMTP relay agents.

Are they normally where SMTP server is or on site where SAP resides?

Thank you in advance

yes I can reach  SMTP server on port 25

(I guess you had in mind via telnet)

Only if I understood SMTP relay agents are normaly on originating sites(i.e not  site where SMTP is)?

You need configure SMTP relay agents on SMTP server side. This procedure is specific to SMTP server you use.

Hi Jan,

Please do a " routing test " from transaction scot.

As you say that you are facing " Connection error " above test will show you excatly at which node message is failing.

Additionally in default domain, you need to maintain wild card entry for all those people in your oraganization who can send messages via scot.Like say all users having yahoo.com id should be able to send messages via scot then I will maintain *.yahoo.com in my " Default domain".

let us know if your issue is resolved.

Regards,

Deepa.
