Login problem Business Connector -> ERP

Former Member

dear all,

got a strange thing with the communication between SAP business connector and backend (ERP) system.

When trying to test the connection BC -> ERP it fails with RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE and the message that the password is not correct.

BUT IT IS CORRECT! I tried several times with different passwords => same thing.

At the ERP the password will be locked at every attempt. All sympoms point that the password isn't correct. But it is.

> the user is valid

> the password is set

> it's a user "communication"

> the log of the workprocess doesn't show any other problems (even at high trace level)

No more ideas left......

Many thanks for ideas in advance

Jürgen

Hi Juergen,

Verify that you have maintained correct username/password and host details in Business connector.

Check the status of user in ERP using SU01.

Check the logs in SM21 to see any other issues pertaining to Connector.

Restart Business connector once and check the test connection.

Dear Deepak,

all those ordinary basics have been checked....

> the password has been transported via copy&paste.

> I used good and poor passwords

> SM21 tells me that the password is not correct - no more details

> the BC has been restarted.

Best regards,

Jürgen

Hi Juergen,

When you maintain the password in BC, ensure that CAPS lock is on.

Please do so and post the results.

I transported the password via copy & paste; used CAPS off and on, used an editor to check the pw.

as I mentioned - I guess, I thought about all common problems.

I seems that somethings changing the password during the transport. But I don't know how or what.

It isn't a matter regarding inserting a password. The password is the same. Definitely.

Hi Juergen,

Could you change the RFC user type to "Service" instead of "communication".

Then check the results and revert. Try with CAPS username and password in BC.
