How to get sub asset number to appear in account assignment tab

Hello Guru's,

We are using SRM in classic scenarior and new requirement that has just come up where a requestor needs the sub_number for account assignment asset to be shown in shopping cart and thus sent over to ECC when the PO is created.  I know that in our ECC system we have the sub_number configured to be optional when using an asset number.  How can we get the sub_number to come into the shopping cart when selecting an asset?  I have look in SRM in SPRO under SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Account Assignment > Define Account Assignment Categories.  We currently have the Asset defined in here and have the Asset_NO checked for Leading acct. assign. field.  I tried to clicking on the SUB_NUMBER to then see what would happen in the shopping cart and looks like it then wants a G/L number enter the assign number of the shopping cart, so that will not work.  Can you please advise what should be done here?

Thanks,

Jeff Miller

Hello Jeff,

Please go to path SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Account Assignment > Define Account Assignment Categories > Select Asset > Add ASSET_NO & mark as leading account assignment and then add SUB_NUMBER.

When you create SC, select Asset as account assignment category and then click on details tab, the sub number field will be available for adding.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshu,

Thanks for the information.  Can I ask 1 more question of you.  Will this then automatically send the subnumber over to the ECC PO?  Or will we need to make and enhancement to the BBP_PO_CREATE_NEW Badi to transfer the subnumber to ECC?  Asking because we are using SRM Classic Scenario.

Thanks,

Jeff

Since we are using the standard account assignment category & standard field, we do not need to make an enhancement in BadI. But the SUB_NUMBER field should be there for ASSET in ECC as well.
