SAP Gateway

Hi,

1. Is a SAP Gateway a separate server. Or is it part of the Application server ?

2. I have some RFC destinations registered on the gateway. If the Appl server shuts down, the RFC fails.

Is it that the entries in the gateway are lost on restarting appl server ? And hence the appl server cant make the connection to the RFC ?

what is the solution to this problem ?

Hi Prashanth,

SAP gateway enables communication between work processes and external programs, as well as communication between work processes from different instances or SAP Systems.
