HI,
There are seeurger adapters, we can use , but we can use also with the file with seeburger modules also. Its all depends upon the what type of seeburger adapter was installed on your server and what are all the modules installed.
Any way see the below links on seeburger..

HI,
Can you please explain your scenario, i mean sender side or receiver side you would like to use the Seeburger.
SAP XI includes from SP15 an optional component called SAP Conversion Agent aimed at simplifying the processing of EDIFACT messages. This weblog describes how to use SAP Conversion Agent for EDIFACT/XML conversions.
the definition of XML structure in SAP XI that reflected EDIFACT metadata
the conversion of native EDIFACT messages into XML messages
Sender Side:
In genereal
1. Receive the native EDIFACT message via FTP or via a proprietary Value Added Network (VAN) protocol
2. Convert the native EDIFACT message into XML EDIFACT
here you can use convertion agent or BIC mapper which is used to convert the EDIFACT to XML Edifact. Depends upon the mapper tool you would have to use the Adapter or Adapter modules..(See the document for more details)
3. Map/Transform the XML EDIFACT message into an XML Idoc message
General mapping .. you can do it in MM
4. Post the XML Idoc to a SAP application (SAP R/3)
Same in Receiver Side also..
See you can have the Seeburger manuals from your Basis team , ask them to check in server anfter installing the Seeburger , i am not sure the path, check the seeburget pdfs, sure you will get all the details how to proceed..
Main concept is if you use stright away the Seeburger adapter, little bit of performance issue will occur. To avoid it, you can have the File /FTP Adapter with Seeburger modules ,,performance issues may not occur..Its all dependupon the requirement..
First ask your basis team which Seeburger adapter was installed ..and get manuals from there..
Can you please let me know if you have any queries..

Ahmad,
First of all you have to install the seeburger adapter in j2ee engine. Then you have to import the metadata into xi repository. Please check this document on this:

This whole issue highly depends on your type of VAN and its access. Possible access protocols (depends on VAN and location!) are FTP, OFTP, X400/P7 or sometimes AS/2. Why would this have an impact on performance ? Compared to what ?
General approach is:
1) Poll the messages from the box
2) Use the SEEBURGER Classifier, BIC, Splitter scenario
When using VANs you usually are polling several message types using the same communication channel. Using the BIC/Splitter combination helps to split these messages by sender and mapping( identifying the message type).
