SAP MII 12.2.4.5

Windows 2008 r2

Nw 7.3

Oracle 11g

PCo 2.2 (ODBC to Oracle 8i)

Error I get...

"com.sap.xmii.protocol.ProtocolReaderException: Error reading Header."

I have a huge issue with at a customer site where I am getting an error

reading header data from the MII Workbench.  After investigating I

found that JRE 1.6.29 has a note (1649526).  I am using 1.6.20.  Do I

need to upgrade?  Basically, I can perform most of the oracle

transactions, but one transaction that calls for an UPDATE causes this

error.  I tried this using TOAD for Oracle and it works fine.  I cannot

do this in the Workbench.  Please assist.

I tried the note and the SCN post, but it did not work for me.

Steps to reproduce the issue...

<server>:<port>/XMII/Workbench.jsp

Open a PCo query

Execute an Oracle command

Hello Chip,

I had similar issue or pretty much same error "Error Reading Header" so initially I thought it was due to Java version but then later I realized that I had set same port number both for PCo management console and PCo Agent thus causing port conflict so then I changed the port numbers and also made sure the firewalls are turned off too for PCo resolving the issue.

Not sure if above step helps you but worth checking

Hope this helps!.

Hi Chip,

I check with a developer.  They said the error is probably coming from within the PCO Query Connector, but they will need to see all the standard logs from the time of execution.
