Software Component version namespaces in IR

Former Member

Hi Everyone!

We imported a software component version (SAP CATALOG CONT MGMT) into the integration repository; however, the namespaces for the software component version do not automatically appear. Are they automatically generated, or are they supposed to be user defined?

Warm regards,

Glenn

Glenn,

You will not have namespaces automatically generated. You have to create them manually.

Hello Satish,

Thanks for your reply!

If that is the case, how do you know what name to provide? My problem is, I am looking at an existing setup, and it has very specific names for the namespaces...

eg.

SAP CATALOG CONTENT MANAGEMENT

SAP CATALOG CONT. MGMT. 2.0_700

http://sap.com/xi/BME

http://sap.com/xi/BME_CCM

http://sap.com/xi/CCM

...

etc.

Did the person use the structure in SPROXY as a guide? With us, though, the structure has not even been generated in SPROXY yet.

Looking forward to your reply..:)

Glenn,

I think you have imported the whole predefined software component from SAP. If it is yes then you have done correct. In this you dont need to create namespace. They would have already created. Then you dont need to create further. If it is no and if you have created the software component in SLD then you after importing the Software component you have to create the namespace.

By the way can you please tell us what you are trying to do?

Satish, you are right! I imported an existing software component from the SAP software component catalog; my problem is that I am not seeing the namespaces that should be automatically generated. Would you know what might be causing this? Would it have to do anything with the connections, what else could i check?

I am trying to configure the SRM Catalog so that it is processed by XI.

I really appreciate your replies...

Normally for SAP BASIS component, you need to download the component and place it in the Import directory of the server. In IR go to Tools->trasnfer from SLD-> Import deisgn objects, needs to be performed. Finally you can see all the namespaces under the SAP BASIS component

I am not sure on the component on the component you have imported.

Glenn,

Can you please try to reimport once again and check whether you have the same issue or not? If you have imported successfully you should be able to see all the namespaces.

If this does not resolve your issue then you download once again from:

http://service.sap.com/swdc

then SAP Support Packages->Entry by Application Group->SAP Content->ESR Content (XI Content)->XI CONTENT CCM

They're different SP levels. You only need one. Usually, you can grab the latest one.

Also, depending on your SRM release, you'll need it from only one of the listed areas:

XI CONTENT CATALOG CCM 1.0

XI CONTENT CCM 2.0/640

XI CONTENT CCM 2.0/700

Check your SRM documentation for which one is relevant.

Hi Glenn -

There's a difference between importing the software component version (SWCV) from the SLD (using the menu option Tools->Transfer from System Landscape Directory->Import Software Component Versions...) and importing SAP pre-defined XI content (using menu option Tools->Import design objects). It seems you tried the former (thus the SWCV with just a "shell" - no namespaces and content), but you need to do the latter.

Satish has provided where you can get the XI content from. The downloaded content must be placed in a specific directory (usually /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/xi/repository_server/import). To be sure, you can go to this URL -

http://<xi_host>:<j2ee_http_port>/rep/support/admin/index.html

then "Repository" tab, "General Information" link, look for "Import directory".

guys, last question:

Do I just put the zip file in the import directory of the integration repository

ie. .../sapmnt/XID/global/XI/repository_server/import

or do i unzip the file first?

Warm regards,

Glenn

Hi Glenn,

First copy the zip files into
host\d\usr\sap\C12\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import ...then unzip the files and copy the .TPZ files into IMPORT folder directory....

Now try to import that SAP BASIS Component into your IR....
