Hello,

at http://service.sap.com/quicksizing you can now directly start a tool-based sizing for SAP NetWeaver Gateway. To better explore the tool you could use an example project linked to the customer number 188213. The project name is then 'GATEWAY V31 F.'.

Hi Martin,

What if we are going to use other SAP Fiori apps, which are not in the QS list?

Is it necessary to assimilate to one of the existent apps?

Hi Martin ,

Could you please help on below queries

1.How to use quicksizing for NW GW & UI5 apps ?

2.Is NW gateway scalable to millions of API calls ?

3.What are the possible use cases to have SAP API Management on top of SAP NW GW ?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Hello Jonathan and Praba,

of course you can find for Gateway (the ABAP backend) the details in the quicksizer. Here also the question on how many calls are possible will be answered. This is dependent to the scenario (how many calls in parallel, complexity of service, ...) and of course to the hardware sizing (how many app-servers in parallel).
We have really, really big implementations already at our customers.

For an end-to-end sizing guidline please have a look at the service marketplace in the sizing section (service.sap.com/sizing -> Sizing Guidelines -> Others) you will find a document on the Fiori Front-End Server.

SAP API Management is an additional layer on top of any service exposing technology (SAP Gateway, SAP PI, non-SAP, ...) to add:

- additional qualities like throttling, quota management, spikes, ...

- additional security like payload analysis, DoD, ...

- additional convenience (developer portal, harmonization of authentication especially with heterogenious landscapes, ...)

- additional insights (how many calls when, which app is being used most / least, ...)

I hope this helps,

Martin
