Hi Guys,

I want to know if there is any specific relation between timeout and poll interval parameter of sender FTP channels?

I mean if I keep the poll interval as 1800 seconds and if I put timeout parameter as 60 secinds, will it be fie or I should keep both the same always???

Please advice.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Rahul,

Timeout and Poll intrval both are different,

In Given time if files are not tranfered then adapter throws an error.

Poll interval: Allwoing Adapter to connect FTP to check for files every time.

In your case dont use timeouts,if you want to use then use more than 1800 sec

Regards,

Raj

Hello all,

Thanks for the reply, I am aware of the uses of both the parameters, I just want to know the proportion

values for both , I mean what are the ideal proportions for both or else 1 should be always less or greater than the other. This kind of information I want to know.

Thank you.

Hi,

no, there i no relation.

Poll interval: means the interval between 2 search operation in the specified folder (requests to the ftp server).

Timeout: The time after which the adapter raise a time out error because of no response by the ftp server.

Regards,

Udo
