Hi Swati,

Apply bundle patch from March. It has most of the bugs fixed.

ORA-00205: error in identifying control file, check alert log for more info"

Hi Swati,

You will need to restore your database and oracle binaries and then start again. As you mentioned your dbua has reached 73% when it hanged It implies changes to database has been made.

Also could you check details from alert_SID.log file what is says ?

Hi deepak

resolved the above error code but now when i start dbua it is showing new error

"Ora00600 - Internal error"

I think databse has been corrupted and now need to restore it. right?

Also i checked alert_sid.log file , but i cannot see any error. It is just pointing some usertraces files.

Cross verified the location of control files and location given in spfile.

Please advice if i can do something without restoing the d/b or is it compulsory now?

Hi Swati,

You need to restore database and oracle binaries. Make you system up and running with source database version. Then begin from scratch.

"Ora00600 - Internal error"

Check the trace file(s) belong to the ORA-00600 error located under usertrace.

Hi Swati,

There is no other alternative apart from restore. You may close this thread now.

Make sure you apply bundle patch from March this time.
